Somatic Re-education

Definition

Somatic re-education, another name for Ortho-Bionomy, is a gentle form of bodywork that allows the practitioner to work with the wisdom of the client, the client’s body, and the healing powers of nature.  When using the techniques of Somatic re-education, the practitioner exaggerates the dysfunctions and/or comforts of the body.  This allows the body to recognize that there is a problem (i.e. dysfunction, misalignment, pain, etc.) and allows the wisdom of the body/mind/spirit to make adjustments naturally.  Somatic re-education gently re-educates the body back into balance.
