Microcurrent

Definition

Microcurrent is a gentle but powerful form of physical therapy using a machine with a current 1000 times gentler than a TENS unit.  The current cannot cause the muscles to contract--it runs on a current similar to the bodies own current so cannot be felt.  The microcurrent works by adding energy into the body, increasing protein synthesis, and promoting waste removal.  It also seems to help bring the organs back into balance so they function better.

Indications for Microcurrent

  • Pain, both acute and chronic
  • Fibromyalgia
  • TMJ
  • Injured patients
  • Sports injuries
  • Frozen shoulder
  • Car accident injuries
  • Post surgical pain and healing
  • Sprains, strains
  • Myofascial pain
  • Muscle atrophy
  • Neuropathic pain
  • Environmental hypersensitivities
  • Parkinson's disease
  • Organ system dysfunction
  • Adrenal burn-out
  • Thyroid dysfunctions
  • Lymphatic congestion
  • Irritable bowel syndrome
  • Uterine fibroids

Whether preformed by a naturopathic physician or physical therapist, microcurrent is a valuable enhancement to health and well-being.
